[ARCHIVED] Citrus Heights Celebrates Accomplishments at State of the City

Yesterday, Citrus Heights City Council, City staff, community leaders, residents, and more gathered at City Hall to hear from Mayor Tim Schaefer and City Manager Ashley Feeney at the 2023 annual State of the City event.

The evening kicked off with a Welcome Reception hosted by the Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce. Guests enjoyed food from local restaurants, including Uzbek Caravan Cuisine, MealPro, Texas Roadhouse, and more. The event provided an opportunity to connect and network with the community leaders, dignitaries, businesses, and community organizations that make Citrus Heights a great place to live, work, shop, and play.

During the State of the City address, Mayor Tim Schaefer reviewed accomplishments and milestones from the year in the community’s priority focus areas of Community Connection, Community Image, Economic Development, and Infrastructure. Notable projects included the Stars and Stripes Celebration, beautification and clean-up initiatives, and business attraction. City Manager Ashley Feeney then spoke on how Citrus Heights guiding principles of fiscal prudence, public safety, and local control were stewarded throughout the year. Highlights included a unanimously adopted two-year budget, significant new investment in roads, and updates on the Sunrise Tomorrow project.

The program will be aired on metro cable 14 Sunday, October 22nd at Monday, October 23rd at 6 p.m. It is also available to view on Citrus Heights Website or Citrus Heights YouTube Channel.
