Citrus Heights Police announce the arrest of 27-year-old Sage Parrish in connection with a local robbery series involving two businesses over two days last week, during which he brandished a handgun and demanded money. Last week, Parrish was taken into custody by Placer County deputies following a short pursuit where he ultimately crashed his vehicle in the Roseville area. He was booked into the Placer County jail on felony charges for evading police, possession of drugs while armed with a firearm, false imprisonment, carrying a loaded handgun, possession of a non-serialized firearm, and possession of narcotics. Earlier today, Parrish was served with two felony robbery charges from Sacramento County while in custody at the Placer County jail for the crimes he committed in Citrus Heights.
On April 14, 2024, Citrus Heights Police were notified by a business in the 8000 block of Greenback Lane around 10:30 am that they had just been robbed at gunpoint by a masked adult male suspect who demanded cash and then immediately fled afterwards. Officers and investigators were able to obtain significant usable evidence which began their investigation.
The second robbery occurred on April 16, 2024 around 6:15 pm in the 7000 block of Sunrise Boulveard. That employee also stated they had been robbed at gunpoint by a masked adult male suspect who also demanded cash before fleeing. Information provided by the victim of this robbery matched the description of the suspect from the previous robbery and investigators collected additional usable evidence of the crime. The total loss from both robberies was approximately $750 in cash.
Officers, Detectives, our Real-Time Information Center (RTIC) operator and the Crime Scene Investigations (CSI) Unit were able to determine the suspect’s vehicle, and possible identity utilizing law enforcement investigative tools and technologies.
On April 17, 2024 Parrish was located by an alert Placer County deputy in the Lincoln/Roseville area which resulted in a short pursuit that ended when Parrish crashed his vehicle and was taken into custody. Multiple items of evidence from both Citrus Heights robberies were located in the vehicle, along with the firearm.
The Citrus Heights Police Department appreciates the efforts of those involved in apprehending this suspect, and we thank our partners at the Placer County Sheriff’s Office and the Roseville Police Department. We are grateful that no community members were physically harmed due to the actions of this dangerous suspect.
