[ARCHIVED] Retail Theft BLITZ Operation & Arrests

Community Update

On December 1, 2023, detectives with the Citrus Heights Police Department’s IMPACT Unit and the California Highway Patrol’s Organized Retail Crime Task Force, conducted an undercover retail store theft operation at two locations in Citrus Heights, resulting in the arrest of multiple theft offenders.

The objective of these operations is to reduce retail thefts and hold those committing these crimes accountable for their actions. This operation was conducted in the 6100 block of San Juan Avenue and was chosen due to the high number of shoplifting incidents at these stores.

This operation utilized both undercover and uniformed detectives, and was successful with the arrest of six individuals and the return of nearly $2,000 in stolen merchandise seized during their arrests over several hours. Most of these offenders have prior felony criminal convictions and, or, probation terms.
