[ARCHIVED] Shooting on Auburn

Friday January 29, 2016: At approximately 8:15 p.m., Citrus Heights Police officers responded to an apartment complex in the area of 7300 Auburn Oaks Court. The 911 caller stated a male subject had been shot. Officers arrived and located the male victim in his early 20’s and confirmed he had sustained a gunshot wound to his upper body.

The male victim was provided first aid by officers and then medically transported to a local hospital where he underwent surgery for his injuries. He is currently in stable condition and is expected to survive.

Citrus Heights Police Detectives arrived at the location and took over the investigation. All leads are being thoroughly investigated and Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact the Citrus Heights Police Department / Investigative Services Division with that information (916-727-5500).

Auburn Oaks Court was reopened for residents approximately one hour after the initial report. Although the investigation is still ongoing, there is no specific risk to the members of the community as this incident appears to be isolated.
