[ARCHIVED] JC Penney Burglary Investigation

Community Update

On Sunday, December 15th, 2024, at approximately 7:45 am, Citrus Heights Police Dispatch received a call from a Sunrise Mall security guard regarding a burglary at the JC Penney store. Our officers arrived at the business and were unable to locate anyone inside after a search of the store. 

During the investigation our officers learned an unknown male suspect used a Chevrolet Silverado to drive through the entrance doors to the store. The suspect then drove through the business to the jewelry section, where the suspect stole an unknown amount of jewelry. The suspect then re-entered the vehicle and fled the scene. 

As we investigated the burglary, we were informed by the Roseville Police Department the vehicle used in the burglary had been stolen from the Roseville Auto Mall prior to the burglary. Our officers were able to locate the vehicle just outside of the City of Citrus Heights, and it is being processed by our Crime Scene Investigators. 

Citrus Heights Police Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to process the scene for evidence. This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Citrus Heights Police Department Crime Tip Line at 916-727-5524.
