The City of Citrus Heights is pleased to announce an animal services agreement with Sacramento County’s Bradshaw Animal Shelter. This partnership will include access to a local Sacramento County animal shelter, a 24/7 customer service call center through 311, an on-site pet hospital for sheltered animals, a low-cost spay and neuter clinic, and much more.
With the City of Citrus Heights’ current contract with Placer County having ended on August 31st this year, the Bradshaw Animal Shelter partnership began on September 1st.
The partnership will enhance City services by providing greater access to countywide animal programs and increased dedicated telephone service for citizens to report animal calls via the 24/7 county call center, known as 311 Connect. The agreement also includes dispatch services for our current Animal Services Officers.
“Our community has a huge heart for our local pets and animals. This partnership with Sacramento County’s Bradshaw Animal Shelter will allow our residents to receive supportive resources for animals in need, as well as bolster the work of our Animal Services Officers,” said Citrus Heights Police Department Chief Alex Turcotte. “We look forward to the positive impact our combined efforts will make on the animals of Citrus Heights.”
"We are thrilled to extend our services to the City of Citrus Heights,” says Sacramento County Bradshaw Animal Shelter Director, Annette Bedsworth. “This partnership represents a significant step in our mission to provide compassionate care and resources to even more animals in our community. Together, we can ensure that Citrus Heights animals have access to the support they need to thrive."
