Citrus Heights Police announce the arrest of 31-year-old Brian Keating following the investigation into three robberies of Citrus Heights businesses today while armed with a replica firearm. Keating was booked this afternoon into the Sacramento County main jail on three felony charges of robbery (211 PC) and a Post-Release-Community-Supervision (PRCS) violation.
On March 20, 2024, Citrus Heights Police were notified by three separate business employees within a three-hour timeframe that they had just been robbed at gunpoint by an adult male suspect who immediately fled afterwards. Each of the separate business employees and witnesses provided a similar suspect description alerting police that this the suspect was desperate for cash and willing to put himself and the entire community at risk.
The first robbery occurred just before 8:00 am at a fast-food restaurant in the 8000 block of Greenback Lane. The second robbery occurred at approximately 10:45 AM and occurred at a fast-food restaurant in the 7800 block of Madison Avenue. The third, and final, robbery occurred around 11:20 AM at a convenience store in the 6800 block of Sunrise Boulevard. The total loss from all three businesses was approximately $700 in cash.
Officers, Detectives, our Real-Time Information Center (RTIC) operator and the Crime Scene Investigations Unit were able to determine the suspect’s vehicle and possible identity and location utilizing several different law enforcement technologies.
Keating was located behind a business in the area of Sunrise Blvd and Cirby Way in Roseville and arrested. Evidence from all three robberies was located along with his vehicle and the replica firearm.
The Citrus Heights Police Department is extremely appreciative of the men and women who assisted with this criminal apprehension and are grateful that nobody in the community was physically injured by his actions.
