On Wednesday, April 12th at around 8:45pm, the Citrus Heights Police Department communication’s center was contacted by a subject inside a business stating police needed to respond to investigate a murder and then the line disconnected. Witnesses there state the subject fled in a gold colored truck and fired several rounds as he left the parking lot. Nobody was struck by that gunfire.
Within a couple of minutes, there were reports of a second shooting from a truck, just north of the original business’ location, near Auburn Blvd and Twin Oaks Avenue. At that location, a commercial building and detached structure were both struck by several bullets.
Within several minutes, it was determined that the vehicle was a 2002 gold colored Ford F-150 standard-cab pickup truck with a black soft tonneau cover (LIC #6V04299). The vehicle is registered to 30 year-old Jackson Pinney from Hayward, CA whose DMV photograph matches the description of the suspect, as provided by witnesses.
Before officers were able to locate the suspect, he fled northbound on Auburn Blvd and left the City of Citrus Heights entering the City of Roseville. During the minutes that followed, he continued to fire rounds from his vehicle. It appears that this suspect is also related to recent threats at the Sacramento State Capitol building.
The vehicle and suspect are still outstanding at this time and Citrus Heights Detectives, Roseville Detectives and CHP are working in collaboration on this case. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous, please do not attempt to make contact, but call 9-1-1 immediately if seen.
We are asking for the public’s help in locating this individual and vehicle. A cash reward is available for tips leading to the arrest of this suspect.
