[ARCHIVED] Ladies to the Rescue KVIE Premiere

KVIE.jpg

Wednesday, March 8th, 2017 at 7:00 P.M. KVIE channel 6 will premiere the Citrus Heights History & Arts Commission's Ladies to the Rescue documentary. Commissioner Larry Fritz worked with Webinit Media to tell the incredible tale of the Citrus Heights Ladies Auxiliary and Ladies in White. Organized during the Second World War, the Ladies Auxiliary was one of the first all female volunteer fire-fighting units in the country.  Shortly after the war the Ladies Auxiliary was disbanded. Realizing that the Citrus Heights community needed volunteer first aid responders, the Ladies in White was formed in 1951. Women from all over the community volunteered their time and energy as first aid responders. They were often the first people on the scene to car accidents, fire-related incidents, at home emergencies, and baby deliveries.

Tune in Wednesday, March 8th at 7:00 P.M. to learn more about these amazing women who shaped our community!
