Bob and Sandy Olsen have generously donated a painting by their late son, Robert Olsen, a professional artist featured at art galleries throughout the country. While Robert was primarily a Los Angeles artist, the last five years of his life were spent here in Citrus Heights while he continued to have work shown in galleries up and down the West Coast. From the Hammer Museum in L.A. to the Monte Clark Gallery in Toronto, Robert Olsen’s luminous outdoor urban depictions continue to captivate audiences. In 2007 a L.A. Times art critic named Olsen one of L.A.’s top painters under 45. Robert Olsen’s unprecedented artistic talent will remain on display in the new Citrus Heights City Hall where his memory will continue on.
