Persons Crime Unit

The Persons Crime Unit detectives are responsible for the investigation of crimes against persons such as homicides, felony assaults, robberies, kidnapping, domestic violence, sexual assaults, child abuse, missing persons, and other sensitive cases.

Property Crimes Unit

The Property Crimes Unit detectives are responsible for the investigation of burglaries, grand thefts, receipt of stolen property, forgery, credit card fraud, embezzlement, identity theft, and the monitoring of pawn shops.

School Resource Officers Unit

Two School Resource Officers (SROs) act as liaisons between the Citrus Heights Police Department and the San Juan Unified School District. The SRO's primary function is the handling of all crimes which occur on school campuses. Currently, 1 officer is assigned to each of the 2 high schools in the city: San Juan High School and Mesa Verde High School. SROs also handle crimes occurring on middle school and elementary school grounds as needed.

Youth & Family Services Unit

The Youth and Family Services detective's main goal is the prevention of criminal behavior in juveniles. The Youth and Family Services detective works to provide outreach for at-risk youth, plus diversion and intervention services. The Youth and Family Services detective works closely with the School Resource Officers (SROs) to help achieve this goal. The Youth and Family Services detective also works closely with Child Protective Services (CPS) and assists in child abuse investigations.

This unit also partners with the Citrus Heights Police Activities League (CHPAL) to provide services for youth including sports, recreational activities, drug and gang awareness. Visit online for more information about CHPAL.
