Sandbag Information

Citrus Heights provides sandbags for CITRUS HEIGHTS RESIDENTS ONLY.

If you do not live in Citrus Heights, please contact your local agency for sandbag information.

Up to 10 bags are available free of charge in the City Hall Lobby from 8 am to 4 pm. Please bring proof of residency, such as a Driver's License or utility bill. 

NOTE: SAND PILES ARE SELF SERVE.  BRING YOUR OWN SHOVEL. 

Sand piles have been placed at:

  • C-Bar-C Park (8275 Oak Avenue)
  • City Hall parking lot (6360 Fountain Square Drive)

Residents may also contact local home improvement stores to purchase sand and sandbags. You can download instructions for sandbag filling and laying (PDF). For additional information or questions, please contact the General Services Department at 916-727-4770 or email General Services.

What should I do with a fallen tree?

If the tree had grown in your yard and has fallen, then you are responsible for its removal.

If a tree has fallen in the roadway or on a sidewalk, 

contact the City of Citrus Heights 916-727-4770 8 AM - 5 PM.

After hours, contact the Citrus Heights Police Dept 916-727-5500.


Please be patient. It will take time for city crews to cleanup down trees.
