Commissions and Boards

The city has various commission and boards that are established by Municipal Code.  These commissions and boards are appointed by the City Council.  Citizens are encouraged to seek positions when vacancies are announced.

The Planning Commission hears projects related to land use, reviews proposed ordinances and other issues relating to the implementation of the city's General Plan.

The History and Arts Commission assists the city in the preservation and enhancement of historical buildings and artifacts, as well as assisting in the promotion of cultural arts within the community.

The Construction Appeals Board assists in determining suitability of materials and methods of construction, as well as interpreting technical codes.

The Administrative Hearing Board hears cases involving non-compliance to city codes.
