CURRENT PROJECTS LIST
As of July 23, 2010

The Planning Department processes a variety of projects.  Below is a list of activity processed through the Planning Department.  The list is divided into four sections.  The first area "New Project Submittal" lists the most recent applications received.  The next section is "Projects Under Review".  These projects are currently being processed by the division.  Some projects are approved by Planning Staff and some require approval by the Planning Commission and/or the City Council.  The section titled "Projects Scheduled for Hearing" are applications that are scheduled on an upcoming agenda for a hearing before the Planning Commission or the City Council.  The "Recently Completed" section lists projects that were recently approved, denied, withdrawn, or under construction.  This page is updated on a regular basis, check back often. 

 New Project Submittal

 The following applications were recently received by the Planning Division.  Some applications require a public hearing.  Once a hearing is scheduled for a project the project will be listed under the "Projects Scheduled for Hearing" section.

7048 Sunrise Blvd - Country Hill Montessori Center.  Applicant has filed a Minor Use Permit to re-open and existing daycare center for use as a preschool.


 Projects Under Review

The following applications are under review by the Planning Division and other agencies. These applications will be forwarded to the the approving authority for final action at a later date.

Once a hearing is scheduled for a project the project will be listed under the "Projects Scheduled for Hearing" section.

6230 Auburn Blvd - Clearwire. The applicant has requested a Use Permit to construct a new 40-foot monopole within and existing mini-storage facility for the purpose of providing broadband service.
6700 Auburn Blvd - Metro PCS.  The applicant is requesting a Use Permit to allow the installation of a flag pole for the concealment of cellular antennas.
7230 Auburn Blvd - Clearwire.  The applicant has filed an application to add antennas to an existing cellular tower for the purpose of providing broadband service.
8100 Butternut (Westwood Park)- AT&T.  Applicant has filed a Minor Use Permit to add additional antennas to an existing antenna array that is currently in place on a ball diamond light pole.
7598 Greenback Lane - 7-11 Store.  An application has been received to allow the conversion of an existing vacant building into a new 7-11 convenience store.  The store will be open 24 hours and offer the sale of beer and wine.
7901 Greenback Lane - Panera Bread.  An application has been received to convert a vacant building into a new Panera Bread Cafe with drive-thru service.
7901 Madison Ave - Shell Station. The applicant has filed a Use Permit application that would allow the addition of new fueling dispenser for the purpose of providing bio fuels.
8275 Oak Ave - Clearwire.  The applicant has filed an application to add antennas to an existing light pole for the purpose of providing broadband service.
8178 Streng Ave - Feister Parcel Map.  The applicant is requesting a Parcel Map to create 2 lots (10,730 and 10,676 net square feet) from one lot.
6041 Sunrise Mall - Sunrise Mall Expansion Project.  The property owners have submitted a 3-year master plan for the redevelopment and expansion of the Sunrise Mall area.  The master plan includes the demolition of approximately 9,718 square feet of existing buildings and the addition of approximately 77,300 square feet of new buildings to have a total ground lease area of 1,230,210 square feet.  The new buildings would include 6 restaurant pad buildings and other retail users. To learn more about this project, visit the Sunrise Mall Expansion page.
6249 Sunrise Blvd. - Brightstar Education Center.  The applicant has filed a Minor Use Permit to allow the expansion of an education center to allow additional students.
7904 Sunrise Blvd - CVS Electronics.  The applicant has filed for a Rezone and Use Permit under the Corridor Overlay regulations.  The business proposal would be for the operation of a household electronics repair business.

 Projects Recently Approved or Under Construction

 The following projects were recently approved or are under construction.


7030 Auburn Boulevard - Fresh & Easy.  At the Planning Commission meeting of November 12, 2008 the Commission recommended approval to allow the construction of a 13,959 square foot neighborhood grocery market within the Stock Ranch Planning area. This project will be heard by the City Council on December 11, 2008.
7635 Auburn Blvd - Bible Baptist Church.  The applicant was approved for a Use Permit to allow church services within an existing building.
5985 Birdcage Centre Lane - Sports Authority.  The applicant is proposing to construct a new 42,000 square foot retail building within the MarketPlace at Birdcage.
6144 Dewey Dr. - Walgreen's.  At the meeting of July 22, 2010, the City Council denied the applicant's request for a Public Convenience that would allow the addition of beer and wine to the store's inventory mix.
7607 Garden Gate Drive - Lutheran Church Expansion.  The applicant was approved for a Use Permit and and Design Review Permit to allow the removal of an existing fellowship hall and allow the construction of a two-story 22,879 square foot education building. 6199 Sunrise Blvd. - Walgreen's.  At the meeting of July 22, 2010, the City Council approved the applicant's request for a Public Convenience that would allow the addition of beer and wine to the store's inventory mix.
6301 Sunrise Boulevard - Buffalo Wild Wings Restaurant. The application was approved for a Design Review Permit for the conversion of existing office space (former Countrywide Home Loans) to a restaurant.
7787 Sunrise Blvd. - Walgreen's.  At the meeting of July 22, 2010, the City Council approved the applicant's request for a Public Convenience that would allow the addition of beer and wine to the store's inventory mix.
8220 Sunrise Boulevard - Monarch Senior Living Facility.  The applicant was approved for a skilled nursing facility. Located in Neighborhood Area 7/8 Detailed Project Information 
6060 Sunrise Vista Dr. - Verizon Wireless.  An application was approved to allow the addition of new roof-mounted communication antennas to the top of an existing office building.
