The Project The Auburn Boulevard Complete Streets Revitalization Project will include undergrounding of utilities (electrical, water, phone, etc.) and roadway improvements, also referred to as complete streets. Complete Streets includes:
- Pedestrian safety
- Bus pull-outs
- ADA improvements
- 9,600 lineal feet of bike lanes and sidewalks
- 230 new street trees
- 100 energy efficient street lights
- Aesthetic improvements: stamped cross-walks, benches, and design features.
Due to the size, cost and availability of funds the Auburn Boulevard project has been divided into two segments.
Segment II Project includes: undergrounding of utilities from Rusch Park to Sylvan Corners and roadway improvements from Rusch Park to Sycamore Drive (Summer 2012). View rendition of Segment II here.
Segment III Project includes: roadway improvements from Sycamore Drive to Sylvan Corners (Summer 2013). View rendition of Segment III here (Revised 1-24-13).
See the Project Phasing Map for a visual representation of the two segments.
Also, separate from the Auburn Boulevard project (Segment II and III), Auburn Boulevard from Rusch Park to the northern city limits will be part of the City's 2011/2012 Road Resurfacing Project. Work will include 13 curb access ramps, installation of accessible pedestrian amenities at the existing signalized intersections and restriping of the roadway with well-delineated bike and travel lanes. Work is scheduled to take place from July through September 2012. |
