Sunrise Recreation and Park District has rental facilities available for rental for meetings, weddings, and other special occasions.

Additionally, Sunrise Recreation and Park District offers a wide variety of classes, programs and recreational activities for youth, teens, adults, and seniors. The Winter/spring issue through March 2013 of Sunrise Recreation & Park District Recreation Guide is now available.

Citrus Heights appreciates the value of parks and recreational programs as part of overall quality of life in the community.  Since incorporation, the city and Sunrise Recreation and Park District have partnered on a number of significant projects, such as:

  • Construction of a skateboard park at Rusch Park;
  • Construction of new restroom facilities at Rusch Park;
  • Renovation of Rusch Park swimming pool;
  • Upgrades and face lift for Westwood Park;
  • Replacement of playground equipment at many parks with Community Development Block Grant funds;
  • Vouchers for low-income families for youth programs; and
  • After-school programs at numerous Citrus Heights schools.

For many years, Sunrise Recreation and Park District has also partnered with the City on several large City events. Such events include Sunday Funday, the Community Campout, and the Summer Concert Series.
